Our Saanich, Our Home

Sustainable, Healthy, Vibrant

Thank You!

Thank You!

Dear Saanich Residents,

Every three years, when we have the privilege of going to the polls and voting, I am reminded of how blessed we are in Saanich – not only for the opportunity to participate in the democratic process, but also for the hundreds of citizens who selflessly donate their time and energy to make an election happen.

In particular I would like to thank my family for their support and patience during all the time away and long days on the campaign trail. To my campaign team – I literally couldn’t have done it without you! I appreciate everyone who played a part, no matter how large or small. I also want to acknowledge those who endorsed me publicly during the campaign – you entrusted me with your name and reputation and for that I am grateful.

There are numerous other groups and individuals who also play a roll, from the community associations who organized all candidate meetings, to the city and election staff that go above and beyond to ensure the voting runs smoothly, to the residents who made the extra effort to get out and vote on November 19 – I truly appreciate all of your time and commitment.

Finally, I would like to thank David Cubberley and his team, and everyone else who ran but was not elected, for their commitment and ongoing service to our community. Elections are a time to re-evaluate and take stock of the decisions we are making, and I welcome the new ideas and constructive feedback that I have received. It is an honour to be your Mayor, and I look forward to continuing to keep Saanich a community we can all be proud to call home.

Sincerely,

Mayor Frank Leonard
